Volume 5 Chapter 82: It’s You

"Hah!" Herrick roared as he swung his sword! Melor quickly ducked away from his attack. That was not the end! Herrick swung his sword upwards, ready for a double slash. 

"Hmpf!" Melor blocked it with his hammer. That was not enough. The force in Herrick's sword made Melor let go of his hammer. 

"You lose," Herrick grinned. 

"Darn it," Melor cursed as he grabbed Herrick's hand, "How did you get so strong?!" Herrick and Melor sparred with one another since the start of the academy. Fighting him for so long made him understand how strong he was. However, this was on a whole other level than before!

"Heh!" Herrick chuckled, "That's because I have awakened my latent potential."

Awaken latent potential? Melor didn't believe that. He would have awakened a long time ago!

"Did watching that plant really make you this strong?" Most of Herrick's time had been watching over that plant. 

"Don't you dare talk down about Lttile Herc!" Herrick's eyes turned bloodthirsty. 

"Sheesh, I was joking. Calm down." Melor took a step back. This was the usual reaction. Talking down about the plant in front of Herrick was asking for trouble. 

"But how did Keith get you to become like this?" This was something he realized; Keith was the one who caused Herrick to become like this. 

"Focus?" Herrick looked up. Even when Keith explained it to him, Herrick got about half of it. The rest went out his other ear.  

"Gotta ask him to train me up," Melor was curious about what he did. 

"You know. I kinda understood what Keith is," Herrick sighed. 

"Hmm?"

"He's on a different level compared to the rest of us. And I have accepted that." There was one thing Herrick understood. Keith was in a different class than him.

"What the?! Are you the same prideful lions?! Who are you?!" Melor blinked, confused. He would never say something like that. 

"Just because I accept it doesn't mean I won't catch up to him!" Now that he understood where Keith was, it was time to catch up to him! There was no way he could stay where he was. 

"...I want to spar with Keith now." Melor was too eager. Seeing how his best friend had increased so much, he wanted to do the same thing.

"He wouldn't mind," Keith said before that Melor was fine with him entering the island. As they talked,

"Hey!"

Herrick and Melor turned around. Before they knew it, the two were surrounded by a group of people! Herrick and Melor glanced before they went back to back. These guys were looking for a brawl. That was the look they had.  

Before they were about to fight, 

"Wait a minute."

"Here are your orders!" Keith smiled as he handed the order over to the customers. It was smooth sailing. That was because there were two people watching over him. Besides, some adventurers watched over him; two others did the same. 

Nephele and Aria were watching from the skies. The two never stopped watching over him. 

Aria, you don't need to stay up there. You can come down. Keith mind-talked to the owl. 

Keith, can't I come down as well?! Through wind magic, Nephele sent a message. However, Keith's smile widened. The customer was confused. 

Nephele understood; that was a no!

"Ho!" Aria came flying down from the skies. That spooked the customers. The adventurers were ready to fight. However, Keith waved his hand, "Please don't be alarmed. She is my familiar." When that was said, the customers softened.

"Woah, to think you have such a familiar!" Cedric stared at the owl.

"It was originally my father. However, he gave it to me when I enrolled in the academy." Keith explained. 

"I see. So your father gave it to you for protection. That's a pretty bold move," Cedric commented. 

Keith picked up some meat and placed it on a plate. With that, Aria started to eat. 

"Hey, Boss!" Keith looked up to see Fin and Lin.

"Hello, Mr.Fin, Mr.Lin. Do you want your regular orders?"

"Of course." "Thank you." The two nodded. Like that, Keith started to cook. While he did, 

"What happened to the two of you? You guys looked like you went through a tornado?" Cedric frowned. The expression on the two's faces was something.
