"Eh?" Alfia's expression froze. However, her expression quickly changed the next second, remembering Keith's words. There were people watching us?

"We can talk when we're like this. The assassins can't hear us," The people monitoring them were far enough to not hear them. 

"How do you know?" 

"When you were following me into the forest, I used mana detection to check if you were still there. When I did that, I sensed those people entering as well." He thought they were adventurers like him. However, when he used it again, he noticed they were sticking close to him. 

That meant they were following them. 

Alfia frowned, "Do you know how many there are?"  

"I detected around 15." That was the minimum. There could be more. 

That many? Alfia didn't think there would be so many around. However, looking at Keith's calm expression, it was true. Things were about to get hectic. 

"What do we do?" "You return to the city. I will deal with them," 

"Eh?" 

"Those guys are probably after me." Keith could tell. Alfia definitely didn't have anything to do with this. 

"Nonsense. How do you know they're not after me? I'm a princess!" She was from high nobility. There was reason to believe they would be after her as well. 

"No. Some were following me way before you," Keith had a hunch. He always felt something was stabbing his back. This occurred the last few days. However, he thought it was just him being pessimistic. Nothing happened to his cart during those days. 

But now, he was sure he was wrong. 

"But I can't leave you here," There were 15 of them. Can Keith really take them down?

"Relax, I got this," Keith cracked his knuckles.

"No, I'm staying." Stop trying to lie. This was very different from his fight with Todd and those people; these guys were sneaky. What was more, Keith was sweating. 

"Go,"

"No!" Alfia shook her head.

"Why are you this stubborn," "Because I am."

"You-" Keith's eyes twitched, wanting to say something else. Keep cool. I need to calm down. It was not a situation where he could afford to lose his head.

"Then listen to my plan closely. Follow it to a tee," "Understood."

Keith and Alfia split up from one another. The two went their opposite way. After walking quite a distance,

"You can come out now!" Keith called out.

"..."

"Do you think I wouldn't notice you guys?" When Keith said this, something shot at him! Keith quickly sidestepped away; that was when a few shadows came down!

All of them were dressed in black clothing. I was off by 7. There were at least 22 surrounding him. These assassins didn't hesitate as they charged at Keith. 

However, the latter wasn't going to let them circle him. He dashed at the closest one, swinging his sword. However, two assassins intercepted it, blocking his blow.

Damn! Keith was pushed back. This is annoying. He was entrapped in a circle. 

"Can't you guys give me a break?" A light chuckle came out of Keith's mouth. The assassins didn't answer as they continued their assault! However, Keith blocked the swords. 

Thank goodness Michael trained me so crazily. Michael had the knights surround him and attack him. However,

"Ngh!" Keith looked down at his shoulder and saw an arrow. 

"Tch!" Keith swung his sword again, slicing another arrow in half. And the assassins took that gap!

"Tch!" Little by little, Keith was etched with wounds. Although he took out three, that was not enough. Defeating them didn't help his situation. 

These guys wouldn't let him do any summons or magic. They weren't giving him time or space to do anything. One assassin tried to swing his sword down on him. However,

Boom! 

"Eh?"

"You ass! You tried to send me away!" Alfia roared!

"WHY ARE YOU HERE?!" 

"Because I didn't trust you!" Keith had given her the wrong instructions. She was supposed to wait on the east side while Keith led the assassins over to her. She would bomb them with magic. 

But this man did none of that! He decided to lead them away!

"We're going to have a talk about this later!" Alfia screamed! 

"Why is she here?!" 

"Eh?" Do these people know about Alfia? Either way, 

"Tch!" Keith kicked one of the guys away. Having Alfia here destroyed their plan. He had to take the chance! 

It was a life-and-death struggle. 

Keith fired his lightning, zapping three of them! And the assassins started to dwindle.

"Hold them here until the others come!" 

"..." Are you kidding me?! There were more of these guys?! Then he can't give them a chance. Gotta summon Diana! However,

"Alfia! Watch out!" Keith quickly jumped and blocked the sword with his body!
