Volume 5 Chapter 38: That’s Training?

People who ate little would feel this soup tasted too much.

"Also, the lamb crepe is absolutely delicious. However, I'm also craving something like soup to balance it." Alfia couldn't help but express her delight in the lamb crepe. But she felt it would be even more satisfying with the soup.

"Alright!" Keith got a lot of input on that.

"Does everyone else have anything you would like to share?"

"I kinda like the soup with chunks of meat in it!"

"Mmhmm." Keith nodded.

"We should also use some onions."

"More vegetables and meat, got it," Keith noted, acknowledging the group's preferences. Like that, they continued to express what they liked.

After some time, Keith finished listening to everyone's ideas. He knew what he needed to do.

...

The following morning, Keith woke up. He saw Herrick working outside again. You got to be kidding me? A heavy groan came out of his mouth.

"Hah, so you didn't listen to what Gabriel said," Keith shook his head as he watched Herrick swing his sword. It was the same one Keith used.

"I can get better," Herrick stated.

"No, you can't." Keith sighed as he picked up his sword.

"If you're not going to listen, I'll show you," Keith declared calmly. He just had to beat into him!

"Tch!" Herrick didn't hesitate as he dashed at Keith! He was using the exact same movements as Keith. But the latter knocked him down. It was the same result with Gabriel.

Quick and painless. No, it was painful for Herrick.

"How?!" Herrick couldn't believe it. How could he be so easily defeated?!

"For starters, it's because you and I have different bodies," Keith answered.

"Eh?"

"Why do you sound so surprised?" Keith shooked his head at this fool, "My style will never work for someone like you." Keith was swift and agile. It required being fast. He was slower than Gabriel, but it was a style he was comfortable with.

That style did not fit with Herrick. Herrick's body was too big for him to copy his moves.

"...I can." Herrick continued.

"No, you can't. And if you're saying you could change your body, that makes it even harder," That was even more impossible. Not unless Herrick crushed his bones.

"..."

"You clearly don't understand what you lack," Keith could tell the man was still clueless, "If you want to get stronger, I'll show you how."

"Eh?" Keith was going to tell him?

"I want you to do this every day until I say stop." A stern expression formed on Keith's face. However, that didn't stop Herrick from being excited,

"I can take it!" Whatever made him strong, it didn't matter. He would do it!

"Then you better be ready,"

...

"Umm, Keith?" Gabriel looked at Keith.

"Hmm?"

"Can you explain to us what Herrick is doing?"

"He's learning." Keith smiled.

"..." You called that learning? Gabriel and the rest were confused as to how he was learning. But since Keith was the one who said it, there was something to say as they entered.

...

"Okay?! What is Herrick doing?!" Carolyn turned to Keith this time. He was the only one who could ask him to do that.

"That will help him out," Keith stated.

"Eh?" "Trust me."

"..." The others looked at one another. Will this actually work? They were having doubts about this.

...

"Student Herrick, are you okay?" Tennol had to say something as he stared at Herrick. What he was doing was too strange.

"Training." Herrick declared with his cheeks red.

"..." Are you sure that's training?! That did not look like training at all. What was on Herrick's head were books and eggs. He balanced the two on his head.

"Hey, is that really training?" Melor questioned. He found his friend's action to be strange.

"...I don't know either." If the rest were baffled, then this man was the one who was most confused by this! He was bewildered as to why he had to do something like this!

Tennol wasn't going to stop him from doing it. He chose the option to ignore it. If it was really training, he wasn't going to stop it. Actually, this was for the best. Herrick wasn't bothering the students!

As long as Herrick wasn't causing trouble for others, Tennol was content.

"By the way, what kind of training is that?" Alfia questioned Keith.

"Hmm?!"

"Don't try to hide it. I know you're the one who suggested that to Herrick." Anyone with a brain could tell that it was Keith's idea.

"How is this training?" "Huh? Training? When did I say that?"

"Eh?" That's not training. Alfia and the other's eyes widened.

"Well, it kinda is. It's not training that would help Herrick's body. It's helping something else."
