The Founder of Qi Cultivation, Reincarnates?

Chapter 402 399- I Won’t Let You… (6)

Shi Lei Hu's figure was a blur as he flew through the air. Loud sonic booms echoed out constantly and the void cracked, unable to handle his late-stage Soul Transformation Realm cultivation power.

However, Shi Lei Hu's body suddenly came to a grinding halt and he reached into his robes. He took out a jade slip that suddenly cracked, before ultimately splitting into two; the luster it once had completely blinked out.

As Shi Lei Hu watched as this jade slipped crumbled into pieces and fell through his fingers, his body quivered uncontrollably and his eyes turned red. Soon tears began rolling down his cheeks.

This jade slip was a Life Jade Slip and it had Shi Chun's soul signature inside.

"AHHHHHH!!!!"

Shi Lei Hu raised his head to the sky and released a bellowing roar that sent the clouds parting.

With a murderous aura surrounding his body, Shi Lei Hu unhesitatingly began burning his life essence even more and sped in the direction of the ship.

'I won't… I won't let you…. I won't let you die!'

Shi Lei Hu's heart was in turmoil. He refuse to accept his brother had been killed. He was going to save him no matter what.

The void quaked and then completely shattered everywhere he passed. The deafening sonic booms from his current speed reached the sea below causing tsunami-like waves to occur. The clouds in the sky weren't unscathed either as they were obliterated, revealing the setting sun that was about to hide behind the horizon.

Shi Lei Hu's current speed was terrifying and it would only take a couple of minutes for him to reach where Sea King Modu had appeared to stop the ship, but as a consequence, several strands of his hair had become gray from the loss of life essence.

Though Shi Lei Hu could care less for this.

At the same time this scene was playing out, the battle between the Borderners and Sea Beasts at the second wall was getting more fierce as it goes on. It showed no signs of stopping even as the setting sun's rays dyed the battlefield in an orange glow.

In a certain area of the battlefield, Wu Kai had charged head-first into a hoard of Sea Beasts. Even diving into the water where he would be at a significant disadvantage. But Wu Kai seemed to welcome it and he slashed wildly at the Sea Beasts that instantly swarm him; raging flames covered his body that didn't lessen in strength even when he was submerged in the sea.

Wu Kai had to thank Jun in his heart as this wasn't the case before. He had gained control over his Innate Flames a little more, so even battle underwater didn't affect his flames that much.

As Wu Kai was slashing wildly with an excited grin on his face, like he was intoxicated from the battle, something in his robes caught his attention.

He swept his sword around him to push back the swarm of Sea Beasts before he leaped out of the water into the air.

"Huh? What's this?"

Wu Kai was annoyed at being interrupted in the midst of battle and he almost ignored it, but he eventually reached into his robes and took out a jade slip.

"The Life-Saving treasure Master gave me, what's-"

Wu Kai suddenly stop talking mid-sentence and his body went ridged when he felt the power inside the jade slip dissipating.

"Wha-What's happening?"

"WU KAI! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!"

A furious yell came from Shi Lei as he rushed over to Wu Kai.

With a daze look on his face, Wu Kai look towards him, completely oblivious to the Sea Beast that leaped from the water to attack him from behind.

"Sh-Shi Lei, this is bad."

"What?! Do you-"

Shi Lei paused his yell as he reached Wu Kai in time to hack his saber down and split that Sea Beast's body in two. He then angrily turned to Wu Kai and continued.

"-have any idea how dangerous spacing out like that is!"

However, when Shi Lei turn to look at Wu Kai, he saw he was wearing a nervous expression with his face turning paler by the second.

Shi Lei had never seen Wu Kai like this before, he seemed like he was seconds away from breaking down in tears. Immediately he could tell that something was wrong.

Grabbing Wu Kai, Shi Lei flew towards the second wall.

Upon landing, Shi Lei grabbed Wu Kai's shoulder and asked.

"Hey, what's wrong? What's gotten into?"

"The Life Saving Treasure that Master gave me, s-something weird is happening to it."

As soon as Wu Kai said that, the jade slip he was holding in his hands dimmed like a light bulb going out before it turned into dust and slipped through his fingers.

"This-"

Shi Lei looked on shocked. He then suddenly felt Wu Kai's shoulders tremble and he looked up to see him with red eyes like he was about to cry. But he was biting his lip and holding it back.

Wu Kai suddenly knelt down on the ground and began collecting the dust remaining from the jade slip in his hands.

"S-Shi Lei, help me. I don't know what's going on, if Master finds out I messed up and lost this he might really beat me to death."

"Wu Kai…"

Shi Lei hearing Wu Kai's words didn't know how to respond.

A Life-Saving Treasure disintegrating isn't possible unless the person who created it died, Wu Kai knew this already.

"Ah, and I was really taking care of it but something like this happened. This time it's really not my fault, but Master definitely won't believe he'll think I lost it…*Sniffle*"

Shi Lei's fists clenched as he looked down at Wu Kai gathering up the jade slip dust with trembling hands.

"Shi Lei, you were here with me so when Master c-comes back, you have to…*Sniffle*… you have to tell him that…*Sniffle*…tell him…"

Wu Kai couldn't finish his words as he was sniffling nonstop.

Shi Lei knelt down and stopped Wu Kai from gathering up dust by grabbing his hand.

"Wh-What are you doing Shi Lei?"

Wu Kai asked, but when he didn't get a response he looked up.

Shi Lei wasn't meeting his gaze, his head was down with tears streaming down his cheeks.

Wu Kai seeing this had to bite his lip to stop them from trembling, but the tears he was trying to hold back immediately began to fall.

Wu Kai gripped the dust he gathering in his hands, then like a broken dam, his emotions poured out.

"MASTER!!"

Wu Kai cried out uncontrollably.

"You-You…"

Wu Kai squeeze his eyes shut and lowered his head to the ground.

"AHHHH!!!

"Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!!

"You said I wasn't going to rid of you no matter what. You boasted and said you were a General, about how no one could stop you from being my Master. But what is this?! WHY ARE YOU SUDDENLY DEAD?!!"

Wu Kai gritted his teeth so hard his gum started to bleed.

"That fucking liar. That fucking bastard!! If-If ever see him again, I'll-I'll… *Sob*…damn it, damn it."

Shi Lei listened as Wu Kai screamed and cursed. He didn't stop until his voice became hoarse, and even then he only continued till his words devolved into mad bouts of screams.

It's like Wu Kai was trying to get rid of something inside of him, but no matter how he cursed and screamed till he lost his voice, that something never left him. That emotion was only getting stronger and stronger; not stopping until it completely consumed him.

Even though Shi Chun was Shu Lei's uncle, their relationship was nothing compared to the one Shi Chun had with Wu Kai, they were like a father and son. Shi Chun had raised Wu Kai before he could even walk, he was the only parental figure Wu Kai ever had.

Anger.

Hatred.

And sadness.

Shi Lei couldn't imagine how Wu Kai was feeling. But at the same time, this situation caused him to worry about something else.

"Wu Kai…?!!"

Shi Lei had placed his hand on Wu Kai's back to comfort him, but he felt a searing heat burn his hand.

Shi Lei groan from the pain and instinctively pulled his hand away, but he immediately after he ignored the heat from Wu Kai and grabbed his body with both of his hands.

"Wu Kai! Wu Kai, wake up!"

Wu Kai had fallen unconscious after his bouts of screams. However, the heat on his body was continuing to increase at an unbelievable level, even causing heat waves visible to the naked eye to raise from his body.

"No."

Shi Lei seeing this gritted his teeth.

Wu Kai losing control this time was completely different from the previous times. The death of Shi Chun was the trigger for Wu Kai, and something like that being the trigger was going to fuel Wu Kai's Innate Flames beyond anything before.

It might even drain his life essence faster than before causing him to lose his life.

"No, I won't… I won't let you lose control this time!"
