The Devil's Harem

Chapter 102 - Alex, Her Achilles Heel?

Chapter -102

"What were you doing in that room?" Margaret opened her mouth to ask. She was calm, but Alex could feel the tension building in the room.

"I..." The manager started to answer, but Margaret cut him short.

"Well, I know what you were doing there. And to be honest, I could care less which donut you want to spray your cream in," Margaret said, "What I want to know that why were you creamipieing that donut in that room?" Margaret asked, and her voice upped a notch, "That room is off-limits, don't you know that?"

"Ma'am, I am...." The man wanted to explain, but Margaret did not seem interested in listening to any of his excuses.

"Didn't I explicitly order that no one, and I mean no one, was allowed in VIP lounges 10 and 11," Margaret asked in an icy cold manner. Alex felt the temperature of the room going down with every word she spoke.

The man nodded, "Yes, ma'am, It was a mistake, and I know..." The man opened his mouth once again to try and explain but was cut off by Margaret yet again.

"You know shit," Margaret picked up the coffee mug and threw it towards the manager. The mug flew past the manager missing his face by an inch, but the coffee ended up spilling all over his clothes and face.

"I could have brushed aside anything else, like how I have been patient with you embezzling my money. It's all but chump change to me. I don't even care about it. But this, not a chance," Margaret shook her head as she said.

"Boss..."

"How many times have you done it?" Whatever the case, Margaret just won't let him finish.

"It's the firs..."

"I am sure this was not your first time in there..." Margaret said as she stared at the manager.

"...You must have made a lot of money over the years working here, so there is no need to pay you for this month," Margaret did not dilly-dally and beat around the bush.

The man wanted to say something but held it in. Knowing that Margaret was going to ignore him anyway, he gave a slight bow to her and turned around to leave.

Alex had no idea what was going on in her mind. First, she was ready to crack his nut, but all he got was a pay cut. And on top of that, she was letting him leave just like that.

Seeing the manager leave, Alex grew anxious. He wished Margaret would do something soon. Alex was also not sure if, after losing his job, the man was even going to help them now. He wished Margaret would have at least given the chance to make excuses. But other than worrying, he could do nothing. Right now, it looked like Margaret was not her usual easygoing self, and from the looks of it, she was not faking.
"Did I ask you to leave?" Margaret called out from behind.

"But..." Listening to her, the man had some hope rise in his heart. Still, with a face dripping with regret, he turned around, not trying to show the expectancy on his face.

"You are fired. There is no doubt about it," Margaret straightaway poured water on the tiny spark of hope he had, "But you need to answer a few questions before you leave," Margaret didn't forget about Alex and why were they actually here.

"Yes, ma'am," The manager said, but inside his heart, he wanted to scream his lungs out, 'And why would I do that, bitch?' But the moment his eyes met with hers, the very thought of what this woman in front of him was capable of made him shudder in fear.

Alex, on the other hand, was flabbergasted to hear the man. He was just fired, yet he was willing to help them without any reluctance made him speechless. Did he miss something?

With a proud face, Margaret turned looked at Alex, who was staring at the manager, well, to be exact, the ex-manager with his mouth open. Seeing him, she could not help but smile. The varied emotions this boy had shown her brought colours to her life. He was jealous, he was possessive. He was wimpy, he was strong. There were so many shades of him, and she was still not sure which was the real him. But the one thing was sure of was that she was slowly getting used to him being around her.

"Hand him the picture," Margaret called out for Alex, breaking his trance. Getting the go from Margaret, Alex hurriedly ruffled through the file, and with a photograph of Abir in his hand, walked up to the ex-manager and handed it to him.

Margaret turned towards the man, "Have you seen this boy hanging around in the club?" She asked.

When the man looked at the photograph, his blood went dry, and he broke out in cold sweat. He looked at Abir in the picture and then towards Margaret, 'What is the connection between this boy and her?' The manager thought, 'Ahhh! don't tell me I am in some deep shit for some chump change.'

"You know him, don't you?" Margaret said, studying the small changes on the man's face. He knew Abir.

"Well, I don't personally know him, but..." The man knew that he has already a goner, and there was no use lying to Margaret. Just as he began to explain, he was interrupted again, but this time, it was Alex to do so.

"But what?" Alex asked, eager to know. He walked up to the man as he spoke.

"Who are you to butt in between us? Huhh... kid?" Now that it was not Margaret who interrupted him, the man wasn't going to let any random kid throw his weight around and order him.

"I... I..." Hearing the sudden outburst from the man, Alex was taken back.

"How dare you?" Margaret cried out loud in anger, "Speak to him like this again, and I will show you hell right here, right now," Pointing her finger at the manager, Margaret finally lost her composure and dared him to do that again.

She was not even this angry dealing with him earlier.
