Return of the last survivor

Chapter 105: Mana Stone

Chapter 105: Mana Stone

This was not the time to randomly curse someone who might not even be the culprit. Instead, he needed to prepare his half-destroyed nation for the incoming Beast Tide.

"Phillip, get all the combat puppets up and running as soon as possible. Make all the non-combat puppets available for service second priority. But make sure the refurbishment of both is still occurring, we will need logistic and combat puppets to replace the dead humans."

"Yes Master" Phillip bowed his projection body while his mind was already being put into action, ordering both his children, and doing the tasks himself.

On the other hand, Merlin was hovering over the collapsed outermost walls of Cayden. Since it was January 1st currently, effectively one of the coldest months of the year, Merlin decided to use this coldness and make something more efficient.

Instead of recreating these collapsed walls using Earth magic, which would drain a lot of his significantly large mana pool, Merlin decided it was better to simply pull the water from the river, and build a wall of ice.

Mana was used in different ways for each element. Fire was basically using mana as fuel and releasing energy in the form of fire, and Wind was taking control of the wind molecules using mana. Earth is different since some earth magic can be used through the body, while others can only be used with physical ground, soil or rocks present, and this was the same for water magic.

However, moving and shaping water uses very little mana, but requires a lot of control, on the other hand, moving and shaping Earth uses an incredibly amount of mana compared to water, yet very little control unless you were trying to create very intricate shapes.

Raising his hands, Merlin Began chanting a slow and long incantation, while making slow and elegant hand and leg movements.

Anyone watching him now would remember a certain cartoon which was insane in part one, all four books of Water, Earth, Fire, and Air. It was ok-ok in part two. The live action of that was pathetic beyond Sakura levels of pathetic, but the cartoon itself was fire.

Soon, in front of the dazed and stunned expressions of the surviving humans, half of the river lifted itself into the air and floated towards Cayden.

What seemed like small drops of water falling from the floating mass of water, was enough water to fill a bathtub, and did injure a few people as it passed them. Thankfully, Merlin was careful and tried his best to limit the number of these drops that fell, and was also moving the river around Cayden instead of directly cutting through the centre, and putting millions of people in harm's way.

Soon, he had the mass of water above his head, and he moved both his hands downward.

The entire body of water moved swiftly, while changing shape into that of a wall that would fit around the already existing wall around Cayden.

*BOOM*

With a resounding crash, the wall of water landed in place before instantly freezing over. Not only did its surface freeze, but the entirety of the wall froze through and through.

"Done" Merlin sighed as he checked how much mana was used for this one move. Nearly 1/5th of his mana was used to create a wall that wouldn't even be able to keep Tier 2s out.

However, anything stronger than Tier 1 would be the easily spotted, and become the target of everyone.

Furthermore, Tier 3 onwards, all creatures including humans began creating mana stones.

Thinking this far, Merlin finally realised that he too had reached Tier 3, and so should have a Mana stone formed inside his body as well!
