Rebirth of the Phoenix God

Chapter 104: After the first day

Chapter 104: After the first day

"How was your day?"

The first thing that Fen heard once he got back to the house that he managed to successfully rent, was Arla's soft voice greeting him. This single question and the sight of her delicious body dressed in just the apron alone as she stood above the stove and mixed some kind of soup with a ladle in her hand was enough to get anyone going If they weren't as tired as the young man was past several hours of discussion with Nadia!

"Pretty great."

Sitting down by the main table in the room that could be considered a kitchen, Fen glanced over the fully exposed back of the girl as she swung her hips to the side to make them look even more alluring, before turning his back to the plain wood of the table in front of him. The amount of information that he received within just a single discussion was so overwhelmingly big, especially when compared to how little he managed to learn in the past, that even the shaking of Arla's exposed bottom wasn't enough to get a rinse out of him.

"Why do you look like if you just learned that your legs are actually fins?"

Grabbing one of the nearby plates, Arla poured a generous serving of the soup that she was brewing before putting it in front of Fen and sitting on the opposite end of the table. Given how focused the young man was on the words that he heard recently, Arla was observant enough to notice it and don't push his buttons while he clearly couldn't afford to pay her any mind.

"Ah, fins?"

Asking emptily more for the sake of not letting the room remain silent rather than consciously trying to respond in any logical manner, Fen's body suddenly jolted.

"Hey, I have a quick question. Did you learn anything today, or was it more like an organisational lesson?"

Fen's current education seemed to be nearly entirely in hands of Nadia, at least for as long as it would take him to properly create his catalyst. But this also created another problem. While concentrating one's intent so densely to the point it would become a catalyst didn't seem to be problematic at all, redoing it from the scratch in case of any major mishaps was on an entirely different level of hardship.

That's why, instead of rushing the things to start learning from someone even better than that rowdy girl, Fen decided, for the first time in his life, to take things slow. But that meant that he would have no other source of knowledge outside of Nadia's lessons unless he were to find someone who he could speak about the arcanists craft on a private level!

And who could be a better choice if not Arla that was not only living with him but was also full of devotion for the young man?

"It was actually pretty fun. I was stupid to be scared of it. For some reason, everyone was super supportive, no matter how poorly I was doing, or how many times I was asking for the explanations to be repeated!"

With her face suddenly changing, a weird smile of accomplishment, self-pride but also ridicule appeared on her lips. While Fen was nowhere close to being the expert in understanding the expressions of people or even expressions of females, he would have to be dumb to not understand what she meant with those words and aura.

"Would you like to share what you learned today, then? I'm kind of overwhelmed with all the stuff that I was told. It's like my senior that was assigned to teach me, knew that I knew shit about Phoenixian craft, but still decided to just skim over the basics and cover all the possible topics that she had time to speak about."

Clearly explaining the situation to his partner, Fen couldn't help but notice that when he accidentally revealed the gender of his current teacher, Arla's face instantly soured a bit.

As if just the mention of another girl was enough to undo all the hard work that this girl put into building her self-confidence and self-worth, she leaned forward while sneakily pulling at the bottom end of her apron, making the material of her sexy dress cling closely to her skin. To say that her current position revealed a lot would be a gross understatement, but for Fen who was currently fixed on the idea of finding a way to sort out the knowledge he learned, even this wasn't enough to pull his attention away from the priority topic.

"Yeah. After the initial introduction and a few words about the three skills necessary to be a phoenixian arcanist. The first one was the ability to produce flames, the second one was about infusing them with our wish and the last one was about crystalising that wish into a stable form. As for the practical lessons, we were mostly pouring our entire strength to produce as much flames as we could over extended periods of time. Does that help in any way?"

Tilting her head cutely to the side, Arla looked at the young man with curiosity written in her eyes. No matter how much her mood managed to improve over the course of the day, it was clear that she still considered all of her actions and words as just a tiny fraction of what she should do in order to properly repay Fen for his help.

"It actually does."

Only after hearing the stuff similar to what Nadia uttered during their dual did Fen actually recalled the words that his senior said back then. With all the topics that she tackled ranging from the aura, through crux, politics, economy, laws of the arcanists, the ways to earn money and on the good brothels in the area ending, it was pretty hard to actually find a single object of interest that he could focus his entire attention on. Given how the important stuff was mentioned very briefly and only at the very beginning, with all those other topics shrouding Fen's memory and view, he actually managed to completely forget about it!

"But you know what's actually great?"

Suddenly flaring up as some kind of memory sprung her into action, Arla stood up, leaned forward and slammed her hands on the table, completely ignoring the fact that this action of her made her apron stop serving the role of her outfit all together.

"I think I can be sure you will tell me right away."

Smiling when Alra's sudden outburst of energy managed to knock him out of his dazed state, Fen couldn't stop himself from finally noticing all the beautiful sighs that she was presenting right in front of his eyes. Sadly, with how excited his girl was right now, there was no way that her mind would still allow for some indecent thoughts.

"You see, apparently my talent is not as bad as I thought! Obviously, I can't say for sure that they weren't just trying to say whatever to get between my legs, but even when I compared the fires that I could produce to the rest of the class, I wasn't lagging behind all that much! Or rather, I was actually near the top of the entire group!"

As the girl continued to speak with clear happiness in her voice, Fen could only nod his head with a happy smile, enjoying the moment of this girl sharing the good news with him. While it wasn't a tangible feeling, there was something simply beautiful with having a girl happily tell how did she spend her day, while unintentionally exposing all her charms along the way to him.

It wasn't even something that was connected to Fen's natural drive of a man. It was something closer to how Arla didn't mind being seen by him at all, freely exposing both her skin and her feelings to him, sure that being vulnerable like that would bite her right back in her soft and shapely ass!

"Isn't that great?"

Smiling amicably, Fen had the chance to see how Arla suddenly realised what she was doing, instantly covering in blush and sitting down on her chair. Yet, before she could calm down, her eyes noticed where Fen's sight was wandering, quickly turning her embarrassed expression into one of content and unhindered lust.

"It's great. And now, I want you to reward me for doing my best and working hard during the lesson!"
