Kiss Me Not

Chapter 284 - Lose You

-UNEDITED-

Cain's face darkened at what Kimmy said. His mind went blank for a while as his greatest fear of losing her haunted him back. Yes, Kimmy surrendered her body to him, but what about her heart? He inwardly calmed himself while he thought about the proper way to handle the situation.

Kimmy saw how Cain's expression changed. She unconsciously bit her inner cheek. He seemed displeased. She sighed as she waited for him to say anything.

She did not expect things would turn out this way. There were so many unexpected turns of events in one day, and it was honestly a lot for her to process. She lost her virginity. She agreed to be in a relationship with Cain, not to mention the sensitive affairs the royal family was encountering now, though it did not directly involve her.

She did not know what Cain did to her, and she ended up agreeing with everything he wanted.

They were now in an official relationship, and she was aware of the tension brewing with her, Cain and Harry. That was why she wanted to meet with Harry at first, talk to him and balance everything out, but she and Cain suddenly did the thing today, the s*x? Was it making love? She didn't even know what to call it!

Kimmy opened her mouth to speak. She was about to ask him if he was fine with her seeing Harry and talking to him as a good friend she spent time with at country D.

But Cain spoke first and asked, "Do you need to see him, Kimberly?"

Cain calmed himself and tried his best to look cool as he waited for Kimmy's answer.

"I agreed to see him. Before I… you know… this thing happened between us… Uhm. I honestly. Uhm…" Kimmy stuttered. She hesitated, unsure whether it was okay to tell Cain about her dilemma of seeing Harry or not.

"Go on, Kimberly. Tell me… Let's have good communication to avoid misunderstanding, so tell me what's bugging you or what's in your mind," Cain urged, giving Kimmy a reassuring smile.

"You see. I want to meet Harry and talk to him beforehand, since I am confused. I want to know if I still have feelings for him. I want to differentiate the feelings between him and you. That's why I think it's better to see him and talk to him first, before I agree to be in a relationship with you," Kimmy genuinely told Cain.

"But you still agreed to be with me a while ago, right?" Cain asked.

Kimmy nodded.

"Why did you agree to be in an official relationship with me, Kimberly? Was it because something happened between us?" Cain asked. He hated the fact that Kimmy looked like one of his patients right now that needed counseling from a professional like him.

"Look at me, Kimberly," Cain whispered in his soft voice, so Kimmy tilted her head up to meet Cain's piercing gaze.

"Why did you agree to be in a relationship with me now?" Cain asked again.

"I don't know," Kimmy whispered. Then she added, "I feel like it's the right thing to do, Cain."

Cain's jaw tightened. It was not the answer he wanted to hear, but he understood Kimmy's situation and knew what she was going through. He inwardly cursed because it was partly his fault that Kimmy was in this state. He took advantage of her because he took a shortcut route to have his way in her since Harry's arrival threatened him.

"Do you want this? What happened between us?" Cain asked, and Kimmy did not mind it right now. She appreciated how Cain was helping her out to understand herself.

"I do," Kimmy genuinely answered, and that brought a smile to Cain's face.

"Do you want to see Harry tomorrow?" Cain asked, and Kimmy nodded.

Kimmy noticed it was easy for her to talk to Cain openly, and she liked it. She liked how Cain seemed to understand her.

'Maybe because he's a psychiatrist? Ah… I wonder if he also uses hypnotism on me? Well, he's undeniably attractive, so his charm will easily hypnotize any woman. How silly of me to think like that!' Kimmy mused, and she could not help but smile at the thought without her knowing.

'She's smiling… because of meeting Harry? Is she that excited to have a private moment with him after agreeing to be in an official relationship with me?' Cain lamented at the back of his head. It hurt him to see Kimmy looking excited at the thought of meeting Harry.

"Alright. Do what you wanted to do," Cain plainly answered despite how he wanted to tell her not to meet Harry anymore.

Maybe Kimmy needed to meet Harry, but damn! He felt uneasy about it and tried his best to prevent himself from forbidding her to meet the man!

"Are you finished with the dessert?" Cain coldly asked, and Kimmy nodded. She could feel the change in Cain's aura. The atmosphere suddenly turned cold, making Kimmy gulp.

"Alright, you can go to the living room first. I won't take long to clean this. Watch some news while waiting for me…" Cain instructed, so Kimmy stood up and followed his instructions.

"Is he angry?" Kimmy whispered as she sat on the couch and opened the television to watch some news. The events after the coronation day filled the entire news channel. She was so busy with her own struggles that she could no longer help the royal family affairs. Yet it relieved her with how things were going, and she could not help but admire her cousin Gavin for the job well done in finishing Duncan and all his minions in one blow.

Kimmy looked at the wall clock. Five minutes had already passed when she finally heard Cain's footsteps approaching.

He had a bottle of wine and glasses in his hand that he put on the table.

'Yes, wine!' she mused because she would love to have a drink at that moment.

"Let's have some wine," he said as he sat beside her. He poured some wine on the glasses and handed one glass to her. Kimmy accepted it while she quietly observed Cain's movements. She was unsure, but she felt something awkward, and Cain's silence made her uneasy. Maybe she was just paranoid, but she felt Cain was mad at her, even though he was smiling.

Cain grabbed the remote and asked, "What do you want to watch? Is it okay if we just watch a movie here or do you prefer to watch it in the mini theatre?"

"I'm fine with anything," Kimmy whispered.

Cain did not respond. Cain was so quiet than his usual self. Or was she just really overthinking things? She drank the wine straight in the glass and poured herself more while Cain was busy searching for movies.

"How about this?" Cain asked her. It was a romance movie, and Kimmy nodded in agreement.

They watched quietly while drinking wine. Kimmy was watching, but her mind was wandering. She could no longer take it, so she turned to Cain and asked, "are you really okay with me going and meeting Harry tomorrow?"

She did not know what came to her, but she felt the urge to ask because something about Cain's aura was bothering her.

"No, it's not okay with me," Cain straightforwardly answered, staring closely at Kimmy.

"But like I said. Do what you wanted to do, Kimberly," Cain added.

Kimmy crumpled her face in a dilemma. It felt stuffy, and she felt like sh*t! Cain said she could do what she wanted, but why was she so bothered with how he was acting.

She pursed her lips and grabbed the glass to drink the wine straight before pouring another one again and drinking it straight.

'This is too frustrating!' She thought with snapped eyebrows.

Cain could read Kimmy's body language, and he could tell she was feeling frustrated. Kimmy being bothered like that was a good sign for him. It meant she was worried about him. It meant she cared for him. But again… that still doesn't mean that she loves him...

"You're so bothersome…" Kimmy whispered with a deep sigh. Cain chuckled and pulled Kimmy to him so he could cuddle her. He thought of prolonging her frustration a bit more to punish her for making him feel so insecure, but then he could not take seeing her uneasy for so long.

"Don't mind me, okay. I don't want to suffocate you, so like I said… You can do things as you please. Just make sure you know your boundaries since you're mine already. Remember, you agreed to be in a relationship with me, so that means you chose me already over Harry. Don't give Harry any leeway to snatch you away from me, please... I don't want to lose you, Kimberly," Cain whispered.

Kimmy tilted her head to look at Cain as she mumbled, "You trust me that much, huh? But what if…"

Kimmy was unable to continue her following words because Cain stopped her by sealing her mouth with his.
